A couple of years ago, Yuan and I were sitting side by side at the church, when he complimented how I still smelled so good even if we've just spent 30 minutes inside a heavily smoked BBQ house. I just smiled at him and told him it was my "secret potion". He kept sniffing my neck like a vampire. LOL! But of course, it wasn't sorcery. It was just a plain old perfume, Zen Zest Thistle to be exact, and it wasn't even my mine! It was my sister's. I stole a few spritz that night. Realizing that Yuan liked the scent, I immediately bought my own bottle the next day. Since then, I've been a loyal patron of the brand and have been trying out their wide array of perfume choices. Just recently, I bought another variant from the same line, the Zen Zest Tangerine.
Contrary to its name, Tangerine is more on the melon side rather than oranges and sunkist, which usually comes in mind when I hear the word "Tangerine". It's a mild fusion of juicy, watery fruits, which is very refreshing and does not make you lightheaded. It actually reminds me of carefree, summer days.
Just a Note: The bottle you see on the photo above is already a repackaged version, but sad to say, I like the old packaging better (see here). Why? Well, while the new packaging looks way sophisticated, I am not liking the bottle cap. Not sure if it's just my bottle, but really, it does not fit snugly. I fear that I will lose the cap anytime soon, so I just keep the perfume inside its box, even if I decide to bring it with me when I go out. Also, lasting power went down. I've tried Thistle and Murberry before -in their old packaging, and possibly, old formula - and it stayed for at least 5 hours on me. The Tangerine I have right now does not even last for two hours. I hate to admit it, but I'm quite disappointed. Aside from the scent, lasting power was one of the main reasons why I became a fan of Zen Zest.
Anyway, if you want to own a luxurious looking, elegantly scented perfume without breaking the bank, Zen Zest EDT is for you. It's only 200php and available in different variants. Do check them out in leading department stores near you.
